Obsessively geometric, the João Birdhouse is a sculptural shelter resolved through the precise fitting of steel and wood. It is built from two machined slices of Jatobá; the metal structure becomes a perch, a hanging handle, and the joint that holds the piece together. No glue or screws are used - only pins and interlocking joints - allowing the wood to breathe and move as it responds to sun and rain. A small wooden bird is included and can be placed or removed, inviting real birds to make the piece their home. Designed by Bruno De Lazzari and made in Brazil.
